Urso (Ursodiol) is produced in the form of film-coated tablets for oral use. The active ingredient of the drug is ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA). The required dose is determined by the physician only. It depends on your particular medical condition. Strictly follow the schedule, period and dosage, prescribed by the doctor. Avoid doubling the dose after having missed the intake time.
Pregnancy Category B. The drug has been clinically tested on animals and proved not to have harmful influence on the fertility or fetus. There is no reliable information on tests with pregnant women. The study of the drug’s effect on reproduction within animals cannot be fully implemented to humans, thus, using by pregnant women requires special consideration.
It is unknown if the medicine is excreted into mother’s milk. The risk of harm through breast milk to a baby is not studied, therefore, ursodeoxycholic acid should be prescribed to breast feeding mothers only if it is certainly needed.
There is no information about pediatric implementation of the drug.
There have not been registered any cases of overdose by Urso (Ursodiol). The higher is the dose of the drug, the lower is its saturation in the body. Still, if you overdosed, call the emergency immediately and have medical treatment. Diarrhea may be one of the symptoms of overdosing.
