Eat healthy tupperware
We will all agree that the best time to taste a steak is freshly done, but there are very valid preparations to transport and also tricks that can open the range of possibilities and improve the flavor and texture of our dishes. It is important to consider several factors before preparing food:
- The weather What will happen from when we prepare the food until we consume it.
- Those that we have, at home and at work (we have a quick way to cool or not, we have a refrigerator at work or we will have to keep it in an isothermal container, etc.)
- Methods of cooking available and especially reheating or cooking methods at work.
We must know if we have time to properly cool the preparation and subsequent cooling. We should not let a food cool down at room temperature during more than two hours and later it is necessary to refrigerate it and keep it cold. If at work we do not have a refrigerator, the best option is to prepare food well in advance so that we can cool it down and refrigerate it at home. Then we will transport it in an isothermal container or even with a block of ice depending on the outside temperature and the time that passes before consuming it. If we have a microwave at work, it is the perfect option to heat up and be able to consume a greater variety of dishes, but it also gives us the possibility of cooking simple things, if time allows, because we can prepare some steamed vegetables, etc.
Single course or two courses
The meal should be made up of three food groups and accompanied by a simple dairy dessert, preferably skimmed or fresh fruit:
- What vegetables We can choose carrots, green beans, spinach, mushrooms, zucchini, aubergine, peppers, chard, broccoli, cauliflower ... and a long etcetera.
- The farinaceous they are potatoes, rice, pasta or legumes, or failing that, bread.
- Protein foods can be meat, fish, eggs or foods like or seitan commonly used in vegetarian food.
- For dessert, a skimmed yogurt or fresh cheese or a skimmed milk shake with fruit or a peeled or clean fresh fruit.
If we want to combine vegetables, farinaceous and protein in a single dish it is a perfect option, if we have more time and we can transport more containers we can also organize it in the first and second courses or even with a starter or accompaniment separately. We must remember that the amounts must remain those of a balanced meal as we would at home.
Tupper tricks
- The most suitable preparations are steam, papillote, boiled, sautéed, etc. Avoid cooking that gives rise to very dry foods such as the grill or the grill because when reheating we will obtain too dry food.
- A good option is to clean protein foods of bones and bones, chop them up and introduce them together with vegetables and farinaceous foods so that they absorb some of their moisture and leave a juicier and more appetizing dish.
- We can add vinaigrettes, dressings and juices that give more joy to the dish. It is advisable to take them to part and add them just before consuming them.
- Avoid salting the meat before heating it in the microwave to prevent it from drying out. Otherwise a splash of lemon or orange juice, oil, cooking juice, etc. just before heating for consumption can greatly improve the dish.
- Containers must be microwave-safe material and a size that allows us to use the same amount that we would take at home so as not to sin by excess or by default.
- If you don't want to cook, there are companies that take you.
Some examples
- Ratatouille with flaked cod and potatoes
- Swiss chard with chickpeas and hard-boiled egg
- Vegetable stir fry (broccoli, chives, zucchini, carrot), noodles and turkey pieces
- Rice with vegetables (red and green pepper, carrot, green bean) and white fish
- Scrambled eggs with asparagus, mushrooms and prawns, accompanied by seasoned tomato and toast
- Pasta salad (lamb's lettuce, radishes, carrots, tomatoes) with chicken shavings
- Vegetable wok (snow peas, broccoli, bamboo shoots) with cuttlefish, octopus and long rice
- The time it will take to eat the food, how we will preserve it and how we will cook / heat it later are factors to take into account.
- For a tupperware meal to be complete, it must contain vegetables, farinaceous, protein and fruit or dairy.
- The containers must be made of material suitable for microwaves and of the size that allows us to use the same amount that we would take at home so as not to sin by excess or defect.
