The dosage of Valtrex in children aged greater than or equal to 12 years in simple herpes is 2000 mg twice a day for 1 day taken 12 hours apart.

For the treatment of chickenpox, the daily dosage for children aged from 2 to 18 years is 20 mg per kilogram of body weight administered 3 times daily for 5 days. For small children, a suspension should be prepared.
