10 jobs that are not very tempting... but very well paid
Would you be able to take on one of these strange professions? The good thing: the pay.
You have to face it: we live in a pretty bad economic context, especially if you're a young person.. We have worse jobs than our parents had, with worse economic conditions and worse prospects for advancement.
The "titulitis" generation
Of course, if there is one phenomenon that bothers us as a young generation, it is the paradox of academic degrees. the paradox of academic degrees. We were told as children that if we studied hard, our efforts would be rewarded a few years later in the form of good jobs that would fulfill us as people and allow us to live with at least the same comforts as our parents: a nice house, money to travel and discover other cultures, entertainment....
But it was a lie.
However, in this eagerness to carve out a better future for ourselves, we have wanted to follow the pre-established rules and have been slaves to 'titulitis'. Titulitis, which is this imperative need to have diplomas of all kinds to accredit our wisdom and our academic success.. But, as we have seen, collecting degrees was no guarantee of finding a job.
Economic conditions and salaries
How much do young people earn today? In Spain, in addition to youth unemployment being around 50% (yes, that's an understatement), the "lucky" ones who manage to find a job are not in a much better situation. Most of them earn salaries within the range of the SMI (655€ per month) and 1,000€. Salaries that, in any case, allow a fairly low standard of living, with minimal comforts.
Lousy jobs... but they are paid at the price of gold.
Have you ever dreamed of receiving a salary of 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 euros per month? Maybe you have, but you're probably a realist and it doesn't even cross your mind that you can find a job with these characteristics, at least not in the short term.at least in the short term. It is possible that when you think of jobs that charge these amounts you think of executives, company directors, etc.. But there are also "other style" jobs that pay very well. Of course, they may not be as appealing.
What are these jobs that can lift us out of misery? Believe me, there are jobs that pay very well, there are jobs that pay very well, although everything has its kind side and its less kind side. The jobs are usually jobs that no one wants to do, because of their hardness, or because of some circumstance that makes them... undesirable.
Unpleasant jobs with good salaries
In this article we will review a total of 10 jobs that pay very well... because they are the least suggestive..
1. Chicken sexer
A classic among the jobs a little... weird. Knowing how to guess (because it's really complicated) the sex of chickens is a very uninspiring job, but it pays very well: up to about 5,000€ per month. But it's not that easy, as it takes more than three years of training to be able to discriminate between male and female chickens quickly and accurately enough. Spending all day looking at chicken butts doesn't sound too stimulating, but maybe the pay is worth it. It's up to you.
2. Carcass embalmer
If the job of chicken sexer sounded a little strange to you, don't read this one. Carcass embalmers can earn more than 3,000 euros per month by performing chemical treatments to "spruce up" people who have already passed away. The high salary is not so much due to the fact of being in contact with dead people (although that is certainly not something most people are enthusiastic about either), but rather because of the danger of working with chemicals.
3. Bank manager
Yes, a great salary. But you are going to be pointed out on the street and you will be ultimately responsible for everything that happens in your bank, including the bad stuff of course. Does that compensate for a salary of 15,000 euros a month (or much more)? Well, you can start studying economics. If your father was already a bank manager, you have it easier.
4. Tailcoat collector
Debt collectors chase debtors and defaulters down the street.. The good thing: they charge good amounts, usually on commission of what they manage to collect. On the downside: if you come across a debtor who is a bit aggressive, you can get a very bad deal.
5. Hot dog vendor
In big cities, such as London, New York or Chicago, employees of large companies have little time to eat. In addition, restaurants in the downtown are often very expensive. The solution? Eat at a fast-food stop. Street vendors can earn between 35,000 and 75,000 euros per year.. As much as some people may think it is a "crappy" job, it is a good business.
6. Funeral services manager
More dead people. Funeral services are in charge of helping in the moments of saying goodbye to a recently deceased person, transporting the coffin and organizing the event. But yes, they earn quite a lot of money: more than 60,000 euros per year..
7. Golf ball rescuer
Does this job exist? Yes, it does.. As you probably know, golf courses have small lakes and ponds into which, inevitably, many balls that have gone off-target fall every day. And of course, someone is going to have to dive in to "rescue" the hundreds of balls that accumulate. A certain Jim Reid found a vein in this need, collecting with his company more than 100,000 balls a day in different golf courses.
8. Body part model
It's not a particularly hard or unpleasant job, but... would you feel good with a bunch of photographers photographing and praising your feet, or any other part of your body? Maybe you'd feel like an object, right? It's like admitting you have a face too ugly to be a model, but as for your feet... they're gorgeous! Kind of discouraging. Mind you, if you can get into a good agency, you can make good money..
9. Cruise ship entertainer
Do you have the soul of a clown? This could be your chance. Cruise ship entertainers spend the whole day entertaining the crowd, proposing games and fun activities. For retirees, of course. This includes playing bingo, ballroom dancing, monologues a bit old-fashioned ... But if you like the idea, you should know that they can charge more than 3,000 euros a month.... Not bad.
10. Notary
For some it is the perfect job: you sign a little signature on a document and you get a nice little bonus..... It is true, but what is not usually known is that notaries have had to study very, very hard to get there. Although the salary compensates, only a few chosen ones with a lot of willpower can aspire to get those "golden signatures".
More odd jobs with indecent salaries
There are many more odd jobs with outrageous salaries. Do you know of any that we have left out? You can leave it in writing by commenting on the web or in our social networks.
