Psychology and Mind, speakers at the III Conference on Research and Entrepreneurship at the University of Barcelona.
We talked about the world of entrepreneurship in the field of digital media.
This past May 3rd, the founders of Psicología y Mente were invited to participate in the session of "Young Entrepreneurs" organized by the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Barcelona within the framework of the III Conference on Research and Business.
We were Bertrand Regader and Adrián Triglia, and there, in addition to recalling old anecdotes about our time at the same faculty not so long ago, we had the opportunity to do our bit in some talks held in a format similar to that of round tables in which guests discuss certain topics in a relaxed manner.
In addition to explaining our project and tasting the canapés (whose presence in this type of events is especially valued by people who are now our age), we were able to exchange opinions with the audience and with the rest of the invited participants on a topic that is gaining more and more importance: What is entrepreneurship and what kind of challenges is associated with it?

Entrepreneurs: the only way out of a gray work environment?
These are some of the conclusions we draw around the labor issue and the new paradigm of entrepreneurship:
- Entrepreneurship is not a panacea.
- Entrepreneurship is not the solution to all our ills, but it is a very suggestive option, especially considering that unemployment among psychologists in Spain is higher than the average of the total population.
- Entrepreneurship can be many things.
- Although the word "entrepreneur" tends to be associated with young people who decide to start from scratch projects related to the Internet and new technologies, there is no reason to limit the concept of entrepreneurship to this type of cases. Which brings us to the next point.
- Working on personal projects is exciting.
- The fact that the only thing that limits one's room for maneuver is the resources one has available makes the experience tend to be satisfactory.
Entrepreneurship is highly mythologized
The idea of entrepreneurship is quite idealized because of the connotations of freedom and flexible hours associated with it, but not only for that reason. Large companies are interested in having the productive Muscle of young people determined to take risks that they would otherwise have to assume themselves.

You have to work with passion while keeping a cool head
To move forward with personal projects requires transforming the passion that is poured into them into productivity, but it is also advisable to maintain high doses of realism to know what works and what does not, but also to prevent work from invading our personal life.
Entrepreneurship is not a political solution.
The spirit of entrepreneurship (that mythologized belief and value system I mentioned earlier) is closely linked to the idea of the self-made man and the idea that each person has the power to prosper if he or she puts enough effort into it. However, this cannot be so on a planet where the place of birth is one of the best predictors of life expectancy. People with the potential to create successful projects are a privileged minority..
From here we send our greetings to the people of Psycogaming (whom we have already we interviewed previously), Ilusiona Psicólogos and Tiendeo, who shared a table with us. We would also like to thank again the effort of the people who organized the event, in particular Ángela Castrechini, professor of social psychology, who was in charge of moderating the round table, and María Palacín, secretary of organization of the Faculty. Thank you very much for kindly inviting us as speakers.
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences of #entrepreneurship @PsycGamer @Ilusiona_Psi @psicologiamente @Tiendeo at @FacPsicoUB
