What you should know about impotence and its treatment
Impotence is quite a stigmatized name of the condition in which a man cannot develop and maintain an erection throughout all intercourse. The more correct name for this condition is erectile dysfunction.
It is important to understand that impotence is not a shameful condition. It should be treated like any other health condition or symptom without the prejudice that with an inability to develop erection a man loses his manliness. Let’s be honest, namely this negative thought/belief prevents men from seeking medical help. Moreover, when a man doesn’t address the problems with an erection and doesn’t share his concerns with the partner, it only worsens the situation as a man develops a phobia of intimacy, avoids it, and becomes more reserved and sometimes even depressed. Let’s see what causes impotence and how can it be prevented and treated so that men with the disorder could adequately assess their condition and get treatment.
Short information about male impotence
What is impotence?
Impotence or erectile dysfunction is a chronic inability to develop and maintain a strong erection during sexual intercourse. It could be several separate in time episodes that do not require treatment as they are situational. For instance, it is normal for a man to be unable to develop an erection when he is stressed, angry, tired, and so on. But if the problem repeats several times a month, a man should consider getting a health checkup to see what caused impotence.
You should understand that impotence is the symptom that something is wrong with the body. It doesn’t occur out of blue. You may have different health conditions you are unaware of or even the conditions you treat but they still progress, and over time they can result in impotence.
What causes impotence?
There are various factors that can cause this dysfunction. Besides, there could be not one but several reasons for its development. But in general, all of them are divided into psychogenic and organic causes for convenience.
Psychogenic causes of impotence are anything that affects the emotional and psychological state of a man. For instance, it could be generalized anxiety, depression, phobia of intimacy caused by certain traumatic episodes, mental exhaustion, and unfavorable relationships with a partner, and so on. This type of impotence is mostly typical for young men, i.e. men younger than 40 years. In case a young man develops problems with erection, he should go to a urologist and get checked for tumors, hormonal imbalance just to be sure that no serious health condition is not neglected. But the main help is received from psychotherapy and solving the psychological problem that resulted in impotence.
Organic causes of impotence include all reasons that affect physical health. It could be chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, pinched nerves, back injuries, surgeries, or degenerative processes in the joints, bones, etc. Besides, this category also includes the effect on the physical health of the various prescription and non-prescription drugs and substances, for instance, alcohol. This type of impotence is more common in men aged 50 years and older. The reason for that is that they are likely to have several health conditions and/or suffer from the accumulated harmful effect of unhealthy habits, i.e. many years of smoking, drinking alcohol in excessive amount, not doing sports, eating unhealthy, and so on. In the case of this type of impotence the major part of the treatment is attributed to the identification of the cause/causes and their elimination. It could be treatment of heart disease, efforts lose weight, removal of the tumor, and so on. Besides, organic causes usually indicate that a man needs to revise his lifestyle and implement healthy changes, i.e. quit smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, start doing sports, and so on.
How can you know whether impotence in your case is psychogenic or organic?
Besides the age being one of the factors based on which you can guess what kind of impotence you developed, you can also check the symptoms that show the clear difference between these two types of the disorder.
Psychogenic impotence is characterized by:
- Present morning erection;
- Present erection in masturbation;
- No weak or disappearing erection during intercourse;
- Spontaneous occurrence of impotence;
- Lack of erection is related to stress or other intense emotions.
Organic dysfunction is characterized by:
- Lack of morning erection;
- Difficulty developing erection even during masturbation;
- Erection can weaken or disappear during intercourse;
- Gradual onset (i.e. weak erection, longer time to develop it);
- Lack of erection isn’t related to the emotional state.
How can you prevent and treat impotence?
The best way to prevent impotence is to live a healthy lifestyle. If a man from his early twenties lives a generally healthy lifestyle, i.e. eats mostly healthy food, does physical exercises, does not smoke or drink alcohol in excessive amounts, and so on, he is less likely to develop impotence later in life.
If you have already developed this dysfunction, first of all, it is important to understand the main cause of it. Go to a doctor and tell them about your problem without any shame. Get tested and receive needed treatment. Besides, it is important to revise your lifestyle and make it healthier. It is a basis for better health and can also help you restore sexual function without the need for expensive surgeries, prosthesis, or use of erection-enhancing drugs. However, lifestyle changes and treatment of the underlying condition need time to have a positive effect on your sexual function. So the optimal solution not to get deprived of intimacy for a long time is to use erection enhancers such as Tadacip. Fortunately, such medicines have a temporary effect and do not affect other systems of the body. Tadalafil, the main ingredient of Tadacip and the brand drug Cialis, simply facilitates the naturally occurring erection. It relaxes the smooth muscles of the penis which allows it to easily get filled with the blood, i.e. develop a natural erection.
All you need to enjoy the effect of the medication is to take it 40-60 minutes before intercourse and you won’t fail to develop and maintain a strong ejection. The pills can be used every day without any harm to the body if they are not contraindicated to you. Read the instruction and all important information on the product page before purchasing the pills.
