Currently, in Spain, they are developed within the framework of postgraduate courses (Masters). Although the postgraduate courses deal with multiple areas of dentistry, this specialization has not been carried out at the healthcare level. The appearance of dental clinics that bring together several professionals, little by little, is generating and making possible the specialization of these dentists.
Dental specialties

- Surgery Oral It is the branch of dentistry that I studyday oral pathology (not only dental) carrying out its treatment through a surgical approach.
- Oral medicine acts at the level of study and treatment of oral pathology but from the medical field (without surgery).
- odontology preventive, is dedicated to the study of oral pathologies and the establishment of prevention strategies and programs.
The general dentist, nowadays, assumes a large part of the dental disciplines, although the current trend is to find specialized professionals.
