Men prefer dumb, unreflective women, study says
Controversial research: are intellectually unattractive women more attractive?
Over the past few decades, a number of studies have been conducted to find out what is most attractive to a man, and what he looks for in a woman. And just as some men may wonder, how can it be that women are attracted to tough guys, they are probably wondering, how can it be that some men overlook intelligence and only look at looks?
A study carried out by the University of Texas seems to indicate that men are attracted to women who are unreflective and mentally vulnerable.. That is, they do not like philosophers or great thinkers, but rather the opposite.

Dumb women are highly attractive to men.
The study was conducted by researchers at California Lutheran University and the University of Texas, and seems to indicate that men are intimidated by intelligent women and are especially attracted to dumb women Could this indicate that less thoughtful women are easier to woo and get into bed, or is it a predilection to remain the "cock of the walk"? The hypotheses are up in the air.
To arrive at these results, the researchers asked a large group of students which actions, body postures, attitudes or personality traits they found most attractive (e.g., biting lips, touching hair, etc.), and then extracted 88 factors that they used as part of their study, which consisted of showing a series of photographs with these traits to 76 men. They were then asked what behaviors they associated with these and what desires they aroused in them. The men associated female attractiveness with signs of vulnerability and low intelligence..

This study goes against the sapiosexual current
Recently, in an article in Psychology and Mindwe talked about "sapiosexuality". The sapiosexuals are people who are attracted to the intelligence of individuals of the opposite sex.. According to the data of this study, in the case of men, sapiosexuality would not be precisely a characteristic to take into account when it comes to flirting.
In fact, according to the sexologist Miren Larrazábal, president of the Spanish Federation of Sexology Societies (FESS), "women, as far as attraction is concerned, apart from physique, we value intelligence a lot". In addition, Larrazábal concludes, "this does not mean that men are not attracted to a woman's intelligence, but they tend to look at other things". It seems that Dr. Larrazábal was pointing in the right direction: men do not value the intelligence of their potential partners too much..

3 out of every 4 women are lesbians, according to another study.
And of course, the data from this study can become very frustrating for some women, especially those who use their intelligence as a weapon of seduction. Fortunately, further research still needs to be done to see if these findings are replicable.. If new research corroborates these findings, no one would be surprised by the results of another study that claims that 3 out of 4 women are lesbians.

At what age do women stop being attractive to men?
Some women think that there is no one who understands men. This idea becomes even stronger when one takes a look at another controversial research that concludes that women over 28 are no longer attractive to men.. These results are aligned with the idea that the older a man gets, the more he likes younger women.
Finnish researchers at Åbo Akademi University conducted this research with more than 12,000 participants between 25 and 40 years of age. So the sample is quite large.

Men like smiling women, too
But, what other characteristics do women have that are attractive to men?
This question was posed by a group of researchers at the University of British Columbia (United States) in a study led by Jessica Tracy, professor and director of the same university. The results were published in American Psychological Association Journal, y showed that, for men, women who smile more are very attractive..
For women, on the other hand, the results were quite the opposite. "The males who are considered more attractive to them are those who show a more serious trait and smile less." Thus, there is a notable difference between men and women on this question: they prefer them smiling, and they sigh for the serious and reflective ones. Curious.
