Reiki
Mikao Usui, (Japanese Buddhist monk) was the one who developed Reiki during a spiritual retreat in the mid-nineteenth century, although he always claimed that he only "rediscovered" an ancient healing technique that already existed but had been forgotten for a long time.
The use of Reiki
The practice of Reiki is based on an emitter that, through his hands, transmits Reiki (vital energy) to a receiver that can be himself or another person (present or not in space-time), in order to alleviate or try to eliminate discomfort and illness. However, since Reiki is a universal energy, treatments can also be directed to other living beings such as animals, plants or situations.
It is a harmless energy, without side effects, it is practical, safe, efficient and compatible with any other type of therapy.
The Reiki method is based on the Hindu belief that the correct flow of Life Energy through the different chakras is what ensures a good state of health in the body. According to this belief, the malfunction or blockage of energy in one or more chakras would be what causes or aggravates poor health, leading to diseases and disorders. The method consists of directing the Reiki energy to the chakras of a patient (receiver), unblocking them and enhancing the receiver's recovery process.
Reiki cannot replace medical treatment, although it can be used in a complementary way.
Reiki reaches far beyond the physical body. It can be effective, in expert hands, in a multitude of physical and psychological discomforts and disorders, such as stress, insomnia, migraines, gastric problems and also acts as a healer of deep emotional blocks.
It is a preventive and healing energy. It can help in detoxification therapies, reduces the side effects of all kinds of treatments, including, for example. Accelerates recovery times and improves the general condition of healthy or sick people, since it balances energies, releases emotions, develops awareness, increases creativity and raises vital energy.
What does Reiki give us?
Lack of health is not only shown on our physical level (diseases); it is also reflected on the emotional, mental and spiritual level.
Reiki can help to alleviate physical pain but it considers the person in a global way in the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies, in such a way that it is not only directed to suppress the pathology, but also to recover the natural state of balance that produces well-being and happiness. This is essential to be able to achieve a change in the interior and in the immediate surroundings. Reiki helps us face life with greater balance.
Specific applications of Reiki
Reiki is currently used in some prestigious hospitals where studies on its effectiveness are being carried out. As an example of the use of Reiki, in the document "Comprehensive Care Guidelines for People Living with HIV / AIDS in the Americas", prepared by the Regional Program on HIV / AIDS / STIs of the Pan American Health Organization, Regional Office of the World Health Organization, Reiki is mentioned in the section "pain management and palliative care."
- Injuries: To accelerate the healing process and to weld bone lesions. Reduce inflammation in sprains, heal torn muscles etc.
- Infections: Helps the body increase its ability to fight viral diseases, strengthening its immune system.
- cancer: It has been used successfully in combination with chemotherapy to help the body maintain the physical strength needed for treatments.
- Depression and aggressiveness: Reiki serves to balance people energetically and spiritually.
Reiki, more than treating specific diseases, achieves a complete balance through Universal Energy. In this way, the patient himself "takes control" of his own healing.
