Relax in the snow
Spending a day in the snow, either on a hike in the mountains, can be very tiring. The body, both at the muscular and cardiovascular level, suffers, and the skin suffers when exposed to the cold and the sun. So who doesn't want a few moments of relaxation and recovery after a tiring day in the snow?
Most hotels in the mountains offer the possibility to relax, regain strength and put the body back in condition for the next day of skiing, in a spa. Typically, this relaxation circuit consists of the following areas:
- Thermal pools.
- Sun loungers or warm beds.
- Sauna or Turkish bath.
- Massage or aesthetic treatment.
The thermal pools
Most spa or thermal centers offer swimming pools to relax and allow the muscles to recover. When it comes to thermal pools, they are the same ones that, in addition to the benefits that jets and bubbles can offer, add positive effects. This type of water has a high concentration of minerals that confers extensive benefits, for example at the level of the joints with an anti-inflammatory effect or at the level of the skin as a moisturizer.
The different types of jets found in these spaces are another way to relax the muscles. There are them for the cervical and back area, which is usually an area that receives a significant load throughout the practice of skiing. The bubbles in the jacuzzi are also a perfect option to reduce the tension accumulated in the legs, especially when the day is over.
Be that as it may, diving into hot water when you're exhausted allows you to relax and unwind.
Sun loungers or warm beds
The loungers or heated beds will finish giving complete relaxation to all the muscles.
Sauna or Turkish bath
The Turkish bath will complete the relaxation circuit and, in addition, it is useful to eliminate toxins.
There are those who want to give their muscles, and the body in general, a little more care and affection. This extra relaxation can be achieved by:
- Massages: decontracting, to unload the muscles that may have been loaded during the day, and relaxing with essential oils to also act on the skin.
- Aesthetic treatment to repair the skin: we do not always think that the cold and the sun are agents that can attack our skin and that if we do not offer the appropriate care, it will end up paying the consequences. Getting dark is a fairly common goal among those who go up to practice skiing, but the sun is not the best skin ally. The fact that snow has a refractive index of sunlight of 80% makes us more aware of good care and protection. In this sense, within aesthetic treatments, facials are usually the star treatments for skiers, since they use products focused on repair and hydration that will nourish and protect the skin during days on the snow.
- Completing a day in the snow with a space dedicated to relaxation will allow you a moment of relaxation and recovery for the body.
- The water in the thermal pools has a high concentration of minerals that gives it benefits: at the level of the joints it has an anti-inflammatory effect and at the level of the skin, it moisturizes.
- Facial treatments will help skiers, subjected to the cold and mountain sun.
