The game from 3 to 6 months
The relationship and play with parents and other family members is still very important. He loves being talked to, singing, skirt games, rocking him and showing affection: kisses, caresses and hugs. The walk begins to be a moment to enjoy and discover. Take advantage of the walk to explain the world around you: people, time, cars, color of things ...
We can stimulate the baby by offering toys with different shapes, textures and bright colors. It is important that the baby can handle them safely (cannot swallow them): pick them up, release them and put them in his mouth. As the baby already shows more interest in everything that surrounds him, we can have him incorporated into a hammock for a little while.
We can show you books with large and simple pictures, naming the objects that appear in a clear voice.
Game Zone
It is important to have a play area on the floor and equip it with suitable foam pieces for babies to offer a comfortable surface. A sensory blanket may also be interesting (blanket with bright textures and colors, areas that sound when pressed, objects that are taken out of pockets ...). We must put the baby in different positions and play with him: on his stomach, on his side, on his back. With this type of game we will tone the baby's muscles and prepare them for the crawling and crawling stage.
What to play
Play at the time of the, insert and remove objects from a container, clap and sleight of hand such as “five little wolves”. Play hide and seek with your hands.
As the muscle tone is stronger we can play “horse” by making him trot on our legs or “airplane” holding the child by the armpits and letting him kick in the air. These types of games are very interesting to stimulate and mature the sense of balance.
At the end of this stage we can begin to name parts of his body and the environment that surrounds him and play hide and then appear.
The most suitable toys
Rattles, maracas, teethers, toys and mobiles with music or with different textures and unbreakable mirrors. At 6 months you can introduce simple construction toys, balls, put-in and take-out games.
- Set up a play area for the baby on the floor with a sensory blanket, for example.
- With the walks, he enjoys and helps him discover everything that surrounds him.
- The best toys at this stage are those that make sounds or have different textures.
