It was founded in 1975 and started with rented production facilities. Company history

Geno Pharmaceuticals’ first production lines opened in 1977 were established in rented spaces. Now the company has its own facilities spread on the total area of around 10,000 square meters and employing thousands of employees. The facilities are approved by the World Health Organization as complying with the international medical drugs production guidelines what makes the company being able to export its products overseas.

The current production facilities are able to ensure the production of 400 million oral tablets, 20 million bottles of oral liquid medicines, 75 million oral capsules, and 6 million tubes of topical medicines per 8-hour shift. There are in total over 400 different formulations produced by the company daily.

The company produces and markets multiple own products and also supplies with active pharmaceutical agents and even finished products, that are later sold under other brands, to its multiple business partners. For instance, the company cooperates with American Pfizer, and a number of Indian pharmaceutical companies such as Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Blue Cross Laboratories, Cipla, Wallace Pharmaceuticals, and others.

Besides producing generics of existing drugs, Geno Pharmaceuticals’ scientists also work on improving currently used formulations and implementation of new medication delivery methods.

One of the company’s priorities for the development besides expanding its range of goods and ensuring high-quality of produced goods on a daily basis, is the expansion of its markets. Currently, the products made by Geno Pharmaceuticals are available in around 30 countries in Eastern Europe, CIS, Africa, Latin and Central America, and Asia. The company is in the process of approving its medicines for the markets of Western Europe and the USA.
