Buy Predniheal (Prednisolone) for Inflammation and Autoimmune Conditions

Drug description:
Predniheal (Prednisolone) is a synthetic corticosteroid drug that mimics the action of steroids naturally produced by the adrenal glands. As a potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent, Predniheal is commonly prescribed to treat a wide range of conditions, including severe allergies, asthma, arthritis, and autoimmune diseases such as lupus and multiple sclerosis. It works by reducing inflammation and modifying the body’s immune response, thereby providing relief from symptoms such as swelling, pain, and allergic reactions. Predniheal is also used in the management of adrenal insufficiency and can be lifesaving in situations where the body does not produce enough natural steroids. It is available in various forms, including tablets, solutions, and injectables, allowing for flexible dosing that meets individual patient needs. While effective, it requires careful monitoring for potential side effects like bone density loss, weight gain, and increased susceptibility to infections.

Generic Predniheal (Prednisolone 10 mg) Medication guide:

Predniheal is a steroid called Prednisolone. It is available in the form of oral tablets. Generic Predniheal is indicated to help patients who have the following conditions: Tuberculosis (TB) meningitis, immediate type of allergic conditions, Nephrotic syndrome, contact dermatitis, bronchial asthma, Rheumatoid arthritis, Systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, mixed connective tissue disease, polyarteritis nodosa, inflammatory ophthalmic conditions, Sympathetic ophthalmia, temporal arteritis and Giant cell arteritis (Wegener's granulomatosis, allergic granulomatosis, Henoch-Schonlein granulomatosis), autoimmune hemolytic anemia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura in adults, acute and sub-acute bursitis, acute non-specific tenosynovitis, post-traumatic osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis. Durolane, the product, is to establish the relief provided by single or divided Predniheal; that is, significant pain relief at night and with enough pain relief by the morning to re-establish usual diurnal activity.

What is Predniheal?

Generic Predniheal contains prednisolone, which is a glucocorticoid. Glucocorticoids are produced naturally in the body and are essential for life. They control or regulate many physiological functions, including relieving inflammation. Predniheal is used to relieve inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain associated with certain disorders and conditions, including various types of arthritis; skin, blood, kidney, eye, thyroid, and intestinal disorders (e.g., colitis); severe allergies; and asthma. It is also used to treat certain types of cancer. Prednisolone is a synthetic adrenocortical steroid drug with predominantly glucocorticoid properties. It has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant effects. The anti-inflammatory actions of prednisolone are thought to involve lipocortins, phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins which, through inhibition of arachidonic acid, control the biosynthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Predniheal increases the reabsorption of sodium and increases the excretion of potassium from the body. Sodium retention and potassium excretion can lead to fluid retention and edema. Elevation of serum glucose can occur, which may lead to the onset of diabetes in some patients. High dose prednisolone results in an increased risk of infection. Glucocorticoids are known to weaken the immune system. In short-term disease flare-ups or exacerbations, the doctor will likely instruct you to take a higher dose initially then decrease the dose as symptoms improve. In people with chronic inflammatory diseases, prednisolone doses can be adjusted up or down depending on how well the disease is controlled. If the disease is controlled well, your doctor may consider stopping the prednisolone.

How does Predniheal work?

Now, we move onto exactly how Predniheal works at a cellular level in preventing inflammation. The type of inflammation that is being treated by Predniheal is too complex to explain completely at a cellular level, but it is the result of an action of certain chemicals produced by the immune system which cause an increased blood supply to the inflamed area and an increase in the leakage of fluid from the blood vessels. Immune cells then migrate to the area and these chemicals enable the immune cells to increase the destruction of whatever is causing the inflammation. By preventing the production of these chemicals, Predniheal can be effective in treating a vast range of inflammatory diseases. Predniheal is a type of steroid that helps in treating various types of diseases. It works by preventing the release of substances in the body which causes inflammation. The release of these substances is caused by a series of reactions in the body which take place when there is an infection or other type of invader attacking the body. When Predniheal is consumed, it prevents the happenings of these types of reactions and this in turn treats the inflammation. Predniheal also suppresses the immune system which in turn helps in treating the autoimmune diseases mentioned before.

Who can use Predniheal?

Signifies that Predniheal is a corticosteroid preparation and has to be critically assessed by a physician as to whether the benefits of the medication outweigh the risk of unwanted effects for the patient. This judgment may be based on an informed discussion between your physician and you. If given the go-ahead, it can be used in a wide variety of diseases like allergic conditions, skin conditions, collagen diseases, arthritis, otitis, and various other respiratory diseases. It is best to take Predniheal with or after food. (Newly added content) Reflects that if a patient is to undergo dental surgery or general illness, an event of an accident or a medical emergency, the physician must be made aware of the patient's usage of Predniheal. This product is not to be stopped immediately; the dosage has to be lowered gradually for the immunity to recover and to get back to the normal state.

Mention which the patients for whom the medication is meant and also states that it is not to be given to anyone else. Dosage and duration are decided by the physician. Measures are given to reduce the risk of side effects. E.g.: - combined use with antacids allows medicine to the stomach and reduces the risk of gastritis. The step-down method of start giving reducing the medicine is for the purpose of recovery of HPAA axis. All these are very important to the person who is to take this medicine and are well explained.

Usage and Dosage

In prevention of a recurrence of symptoms in patients with the following diseases, this dose may need to be increased. Included in this group are patients with rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. Duration of treatment will depend on your individual circumstances. High doses should be reduced gradually. Duration of treatment given is usually short term, from a few days to 3-4 weeks. The dose may be increased during stressful periods, e.g. exacerbation of the disease. High doses should be reduced gradually. If it is necessary to stop treatment after a long term, usually more than 3 weeks, the dose should be reduced gradually over a few weeks.

Dosage varies depending on why you are taking Predniheal. Your doctor will decide the correct dose. Follow instructions they give you. The dosage often depends on the disease being treated and any other medications you may be taking. The dose for adults can vary from 5mg to 60mg per day.

How to take Predniheal?

While you are taking prednisolone, you should take it with food to reduce the chances of stomach irritation. Swallow the whole tablet with a drink of water. Do not break, crush, or chew the tablet because this will damage the coating and increase the likelihood of side effects. If you are taking the soluble tablets, shake the bottle before measuring out a dose. Dissolve the correct amount of the medicine in a small glass of water and drink it immediately. The oral solution should be measured with a dose-measuring spoon or oral syringe, which you can get from your pharmacy. If you have been prescribed a course of treatment with the red, orange, or purple capsules, you should take the number of capsules as instructed by your doctor. These capsules are enteric-coated, which means they have a coating to protect the medicine from the acid in your stomach and ensure that they are only broken down in the small intestine. Finally, if you have been prescribed the injection form of this medicine, you will be given a yellow steroid treatment card that will have details about your prescription. It is important that you show this card to any medical professionals/nurses or inform them that you are taking prednisolone as your treatment. This is a safety precaution in case you need to get medical treatment from anyone who is not aware of your current medication.

Recommended dosage for adults

Predniheal (Prednisolone) tablet is taken with food. The initial dosage ranges from 5mg to 60mg daily depending on the specific disease entity and severity (0.12-1.5mg/kg/day in children). In situations of less severity, lower doses will generally suffice, while in selected patients, higher initial doses may be required. The initial dosage should be maintained or adjusted until a satisfactory response is noted. If, after a reasonable period of time, there is a lack of satisfactory clinical response, Predniheal dosage should be increased. It should be noted that improvement of symptoms may be observed within a few days, but more rapid titration is unwise. The effect of Predniheal may be such that any other drugs being administered, a reduction in dosage, gradual withdrawal, or change to alternate day treatment is possible. The risk and benefits of adding Predniheal to other immunosuppressive therapy should be considered. Changes in Predniheal dosage should be made according to the clinical response, with consideration to side effects. Dose reduction in Predniheal should be done very gradually. The slower the better. Usually, the process should be timed to coincide with reduction of symptoms. At any time, the dose, especially with high dosage, on alternate days arranged to minimize adrenal suppression, may be adjusted upwards to tide them over a particular hazard or exacerbation. During this process, a high dosage on alternate days may provide adequate relief. The small number of patients who seem to be relatively unresponsive to Predniheal may have to increase the dosage or employ one of the recommended regimens. This also applies to old cases or those which might have been on maintenance therapy. As a host of medications and disease states, the ability to reduce the dosage of Predniheal taken while maintaining the desired clinical result is very possible. After a prolonged period of maintenance (usually after what may have been an acute exacerbation), a reduction in dosage will often be followed by deterioration in the patient. This is merely an indication to increase the dosage to an adequate level and/or to add on other agents (e.g. Methotrexate or azathioprine). On alternate day therapy, the presumptive dose should be doubled and administered every other day. If no improvement is seen within a reasonable time, switch to the lower dose daily regimen. If no clinical improvement is seen, return to the prior dose of Predniheal and re-evaluate the new course of action. A medical event, quite often requiring treatment of the myriad of acute musculoskeletal and rheumatic conditions, makes an immediate effects of high doses of Predniheal, which can often be considered as damage control. High dose taken on alternate days could simply be doubled and administered every day until the desired effects are obtained. High dose therapy for more than a brief period is seldom recommended.

Recommended dosage for children

When patients reducing the dose or stopping the medication, it is now advised to carry a steroid warning card. This is a small, credit card-sized card which provides information on the dose of the steroid being taken, how long the treatment is anticipated for, and on the patient's doctor. This is so that in crisis situations or emergencies, medical staff know that your child is taking a steroid and can take advice for treatment if necessary. If your child has been taking Predniheal for a long period of time, you should not stop suddenly but reduce the dose gradually over a period of time. This is because stopping a long course of Predniheal suddenly can make your child ill. If your child has missed a dose of Predniheal, it is usually best simply to give the next dose at the correct time. You should not give a double dose to make up for one missed. Dosage of Predniheal drug varies from patient to patient. Never take more than prescribed dose, no matter what the age. Dose and dosage frequency of the Predniheal depends on the disease and severity. It is best to take advice from your doctor. Dose for children varies as it depends on the child's body weight. The prescriber will decide the correct dose for your child. It is important that you follow your prescriber's instructions carefully. This is to reduce the risk of your child having side-effects from the steroid.

Precautions and Side Effects

Prolonged therapy with prednisolone at a dose of 10 mg per day or more can cause eye problems (glaucoma or cataracts). Glucocorticoids can cause a reduction in calcium excretion and increased absorption, which could lead to an imbalance of calcium, resulting in osteoporosis. High doses of prednisolone could lead to changes in mood and personality, such as severe depression, which could also lead to psychotic symptoms. Glucocorticoids can weaken the resistance to different infectious organisms, thus increasing the risk of infection. Without specific advice from your physician, do not have any immunizations or vaccinations. Avoid close contact with anyone who has a contagious disease such as chickenpox or shingles. If you are exposed to such a disease and you have not had these diseases before, contact your doctor as soon as possible. Precautions while taking prednisolone - Prednisolone can cause water retention and increased blood pressure. Therefore, it is essential that you regularly check your weight and blood pressure. If they are increased, contact your doctor for advice.

Precautions to be taken before using Predniheal

During treatment, if any other health problems arise, then your doctor should be told about that. Those may cause an increase in the disease for which Predniheal is being given. The dose of Predniheal may have to be increased if the patient has to bear an operation, infection, or any kind of significant stress. Although increased dose in such conditions is acceptable, the patient should take special precautions to avoid medicines that increase the risk of peptic ulceration. This includes the use of anti-inflammatory agents and/or alcohol. It is best if the patient avoids stress and physical activities. Saying it simply, prolonged usage of Predniheal can and will cause life-threatening effects, and sometimes people would not even realize that they have been affected until it's too late. Glucocorticoids can cause hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) suppression, Cushing's syndrome, and hyperglycemia. Prolonged use has been shown to cause osteoporosis and increased risk of fracture in post-menopausal women and the elderly. Withdrawal of glucocorticoids may result in symptoms of glucocorticosteroid insufficiency. Predniheal is to be used with extreme caution. The benefits of Predniheal therapy should be weighed against the following possible risks.

Possible side effects of Predniheal

Fluid and salt retention, which results in edema, congestive heart failure, and an increase in blood pressure, may occur. Dietary salt restriction and restriction of fluid should be considered. Predniheal increases the excretion of calcium; therefore, calcium balance should be monitored and extra supplementation may be required. Osteoporosis, bone fractures, and avascular necrosis of joints may occur due to high dosage and long-term therapy, which should be monitored. High doses of corticosteroids can also result in thinning of skin with easy bruising, muscle weakness, glaucoma, and cataracts. Finally, psychiatric effects may occur with mood swings, depression, and psychotic behavior. These are usually dose-dependent and will resolve when the dose is tapered off.

Adrenal suppression occurs with high doses or long-term therapy; therefore, it is advised to taper the dose off as this gives the adrenal glands enough time to recover and start producing natural steroids again. The use of Predniheal may slow down the growth rate in children. Regular growth should be monitored during treatment with corticosteroids by a doctor. Predniheal, as with other corticosteroids, may cause and/or worsen existing infections: by using Predniheal, infections may become more severe or may occur more easily. Therefore, treatment should be avoided in cases of acute infections, and only resumed upon eradication of the infection. Symptoms of new or aggravation of existing conditions following administration of Predniheal should be monitored. Increased doses of corticosteroids may be required for patients with trauma or severe illnesses.

What to do in case of side effects?

If any of the side effects get serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. The more common side effects of prednisolone can include increased appetite, weight gain, stomach irritation, increased blood sugar levels, fragile bones, changes in mood or behavior, and effects on eyes. When taken for a long time at high doses, corticosteroids can cause reduced function of the adrenal glands, making it difficult to cope with stress such as surgery, infection, or injury. This is more likely to occur with stronger steroids such as dexamethasone and methylprednisolone, and less likely with milder ones such as prednisolone. During prolonged therapy, some patients may develop a rare disease affecting the tissue of the brain, often with symptoms such as severe headaches, visual disturbances, nausea, or vomiting. If you experience these or any other symptoms which you think are caused by the medicine, tell your doctor. Your dose may need to be decreased slowly. Do not reduce or increase the dose of the medicine yourself without advice from your doctor. High doses of systemic corticosteroids are not recommended during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. If you are pregnant, planning to have a baby, or breastfeeding, contact your doctor for advice.

Storage and Handling

As with all medicines, Predniheal should be stored out of reach and sight of children. It is a good idea to keep it in a high locked cupboard to minimize the chances of children getting hold of it. In the event of accidental ingestion, it is important to contact a doctor immediately. Measures such as weekly dosette boxes could be used to prevent the elderly from forgetting to take their tablets, thus preventing accidental double dosing. Unused or expired Predniheal should be disposed of in its original packaging and returned to a pharmacist. These measures are intended to prevent the harmful effects that overdosing on Predniheal can cause.

Please ensure that Predniheal is stored in a cool, dark place. Ideally, it should be kept at room temperature (below 25°C), away from moisture, direct heat, and light. It should be kept out of reach of children and pets and stored in a childproof container. Storing Predniheal in the fridge is also a good option, but ensure that it is away from products used for human consumption. This will prevent it from freezing or getting lost among food. If Predniheal does get exposed to any of the above conditions, it may still be used, but it may be less effective and, in some cases, can be dangerous.

How to store Predniheal?

Store below 25°C (77°F). Protect from light. Do not refrigerate. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use Predniheal after the expiry date stated on the label/carton/bottle. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

Proper handling and disposal of Predniheal

Steroids typically decrease levels of the hormone cortisol in your body. This is not the complete list of side effects for the medicine. Notify your doctor if you experience any of the following: muscle weakness, cataracts, peptic ulceration, irregular periods, increased growth of facial hair and acne, other skin problems, poor wound healing, aseptic necrosis, glaucoma, increased sweating, insomnia, depression or euphoria, changes in mood or behavior, a rise in blood pressure, increased appetite and weight gain. These side effects are uncommon but the patient should always be aware of them. If you are on long-term therapy, you may need extra tablets or a different form of prednisolone during stressful situations such as serious illness, or if you have a serious injury. This is because your body cannot make enough natural steroids to handle these events, so you need added steroids as a supplement. Your doctor should always carry some form of identification or wear a bracelet to say you are on steroid therapy, so that the information is available if you are involved in a serious incident or taken to hospital.
